Media, Documentary, Podcast & Film Collaboration Guidelines
Terms, Ethics & Representation Framework
Prepared by: Nicola Farmer, Founder of ICU Academy
Introduction
ICU Academy welcomes opportunities to collaborate with aligned media professionals, filmmakers, podcast hosts, production companies, journalists, researchers and broadcasters who wish to explore or share aspects of our work.
Our work involves children, families, consciousness-based education, emotional wellbeing and pioneering perceptual practices. As such, all media involvement must uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, integrity, ethics and authenticity.
This document outlines the expectations, protocols and collaborative principles required when engaging with ICU Academy, its teachers, students, methodologies, intellectual property and community.
Safeguarding & Child Protection
The wellbeing, emotional safety, dignity and protection of every child involved with ICU Academy remains our highest priority at all times.
Any media organisation, filmmaker, journalist or production team working with ICU Academy must agree to:
* Respect all safeguarding procedures established by ICU Academy
* Obtain appropriate written parental or guardian consent before filming or interviewing minors
* Ensure children are never pressured, coached, manipulated or emotionally influenced for performance or narrative purposes
* Honour a child’s right to withdraw participation at any stage
* Avoid sensationalism, exaggerated claims or exploitative portrayals involving children
* Maintain a safe, respectful and emotionally supportive filming environment
ICU Academy reserves the right to pause or terminate any collaboration if safeguarding concerns arise.
ICU Academy does not permit the testing, challenging, pressuring or performance based assessment of children for entertainment, dramatic effect, audience reaction or media validation purposes during any filming, interview, documentary, podcast or public event.
Children participating within ICU Academy are to be treated with dignity, emotional safety and respect at all times. The work is centred upon wellbeing, consciousness, confidence and individual development rather than proof based performance.
In addition, no part of the ICU activation processes, training methodologies, energetic preparation techniques or internal teaching structures may be filmed, recorded, replicated or publicly shared before, during or after production without the explicit written consent of ICU Academy.
This includes private teaching methods, activation exercises, consciousness-based practices, teacher guidance processes and proprietary educational frameworks that form part of the ICU Academy methodology.
These boundaries exist to protect the wellbeing of children, preserve the integrity of the work and ensure that sensitive practices are held responsibly and ethically.
Representation of ICU Academy Work
ICU Academy requests that all media representation reflects the work truthfully, ethically and in appropriate context.
This includes:
* Accurate representation of ICU Academy methodologies and teachings
* Respectful discussion surrounding blindfold perception and consciousness-based practices
* Avoidance of misleading edits, scripting or narrative distortion
* No false medical, scientific or psychological claims attributed to ICU Academy without prior approval
* Recognition that experiences and outcomes vary from child to child
* Acknowledgement that the programme is not presented as a guaranteed outcome based system
Where possible, ICU Academy welcomes collaborative dialogue regarding scripting, narration, contextual framing and educational explanation.
Teacher Verification & Authorisation
To protect the integrity of the work and the safety of families, all individuals presented publicly as ICU Academy teachers, facilitators or representatives must be verified and authorised by ICU Academy directly.
Media organisations may be asked to provide:
* Names of all ICU affiliated teachers involved in the production
* Details regarding their training, role and level of involvement
* Information relating to public speaking appearances, interviews or panel discussions connected to ICU Academy
ICU Academy reserves the right to clarify, approve or withdraw endorsement of representation where necessary.
Intellectual Property & Educational Material

Media collaborators agree not to:
* Reproduce or teach ICU Academy methods without permission
* Repackage ICU Academy content into separate programmes or trainings
* Misrepresent original teachings as independently developed material
* Use ICU Academy branding, logos or educational frameworks without consent

We ask that media professionals:
* Communicate openly regarding intentions, distribution, audience reach and production goals
* Inform ICU Academy of major edits or contextual changes involving our work
* Respect the emotional sensitivity of participating children and families
* Approach all discussions with professionalism and integrity
We welcome conscious media partnerships that seek to educate, inspire and expand understanding responsibly.
Public Events, Panels & Speaking Engagements

This includes:
* Speaker invitations involving ICU methodology
* Representation of ICU Academy at conferences or festivals
* Educational demonstrations involving blindfold perception
* sPublic discussions connected to ICU Academy practices
This process helps ensure safeguarding, consistency, accuracy and appropriate representation.
Rights of Review & Clarification
Where appropriate and mutually agreed, ICU Academy may request:
* Clarification regarding context or educational framing
* Review of specific sections directly related to ICU Academy methodologies
* Amendments where safeguarding, ethics or factual accuracy may be compromised
This is intended to support integrity and mutual respect rather than creative restriction.
Alignment & Shared Intention
ICU Academy exists to support children and families through consciousness, confidence, emotional wellbeing, creativity and expanded human potential.
We deeply value media collaborations that approach this work with sincerity, care, responsibility, and heart-led awareness.
Our intention is not control, but conscious stewardship of work involving children, families and sensitive transformational experiences.
